O The Mission (também conhecida como Mission ou The Mission UK) foi uma banda de rock gótico formada no ano de 1986 em Leeds na Inglaterra - Reino Unido por Wayne Hussey e Craig Adams logo após terem abandonado o The Sisters Of Mercy por divergencias musicais com o então lider da banda Andrew Eldritch. Logo acrescentando o baterista Mick Brown (Red Lorry Yellow Lorry) eo guitarrista Simon Hinkler (artéria e Celulose). Além de Hussey, o line-up mudou várias vezes durante o ano.
Inicialmente eles tocavam as músicas do sisters of mercy as canções que foram permitidas por Andrew Eldritch
